#Truth
Remember when teachers, public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out half of our 401Ks, took trillions in TARP money, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes? Yeah, me neither.

30 Songs 30 Days
I am going to attempt to do the 30 Day Song Challenge.
Day 1 "Your Favorite Song"
This is a difficult on for me, but when push comes to shove, it's Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts. It's from Less Than Jake's Losing Streak. Losing Streak was the first CD I ever bought.

Young Blood
The Chicago Fire Soccer Club had their home opener yesterday, with a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City. It was great to be back in Toyota Park! Aside from the two goals that were a result of poor Chicago defending I was very impressed with the team. Though I am always cautious of making judgments about the Fire early on but, I think this team will turn a lot of heads.
Chicago Fire midfielder, Patrick Nyarko, on the result:
“We came out and wanted to set a tone for the rest of the year here in our first home game. We want to get as many points as we can early and at home because it will go a long way to help us down the road in our playoff push.”
“Last year we were very tentative to open the season, we played well, but weren’t getting results, so this year the emphasis is on results – we’re going to do whatever it takes. Even though we won we’re still not comfortable with the way we gave up those two goals. We’re going to go back to the drawing board and work on it – we can’t give any team, any chances - especially at home. We need to make this place a fortress against teams that come and play here, and we need to earn as many points as possible at home.”
Section 8 Chicago spent $2,000 on large flags. They are beautiful and a lot of fun to wave.
View more of Marty's excellent photos here [and maybe an unflattering photo or two of the author as well].

“Freedom, true freedom is not given by governments; it is taken by the people.”
Seven men sit around a table, smoke cigarettes, drink coffee and discuss Civil Rights after the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This is an amazing discussion, take the time to watch it in its entirety.
Yes, that is this Charlton Heston.

Is that glue in my cereal?
This image is for a food photography assignment in my large format class -- one of the few digital assignments in the class. Instead of using soy milk (as I would use for a normal bowl of cereal), glue was in place of the milk, since glue has a better and more appetizing appearance than milk.
